We are also happy to hear from strong players in other positions. International players who are interested in competitive or social hockey outside the Premier League are also welcome to contact us about opportunities in our lower grades. Players aged 22 or older are generally preferred, although we will consider players of other ages based on their playing ability, experience, visa eligibility and potential fit with the club.
The Right Person Matters Most
Playing ability is important, but cultural fit is even more important to North East.
We are looking for players who:
- Have a strong work ethic
- Are reliable and committed
- Communicate comfortably in English
- Support their teammates
- Want to become part of the wider club
- Are willing to contribute to our junior program
- Understand that North East is an ambitious community club, not a professional
club
We want our international players to enjoy their hockey, experience Australia and leave
North East having made genuine friendships and a positive contribution to the club.
